Sarah Heck

SARAH HECK leads external affairs and new markets for Stripe Atlas, Stripe’s platform that enables entrepreneurs around the world to start and grow internet businesses. She also serves as an advisor on international entrepreneurship and youth programs to the Obama Foundation. Prior to Stripe, Heck served as director for global engagement on the National Security Council at the White House where she worked on global entrepreneurship policy, private sector engagement, youth demographics, and expanding the impact of U.S. public diplomacy on national security. She also held several positions at the U.S. Department of State including chief of staff for the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, and other roles that focused on countering violent extremism strategies, community security, entrepreneurship, and the role of technology in diplomacy. Before joining government, Heck worked at Kissinger McLarty Associates, supporting the international work of Fortune 500 companies across industries. She also worked with Amigos de las Americas, where she served as their country director in Paraguay. Heck is a graduate of Georgetown University and the University of Maryland. She is a Truman National Security Project Fellow, Council on Foreign Relations Term Member, and serves on the board of Young Professionals in Foreign Policy. @sarahkheck
