Amy Flood

AMY FLOOD is vice president of public affairs with Gilead Sciences, Inc. She joined Gilead’s corporate communications department in January 2000 to manage product communications for the launch of the company’s first product for HIV. Flood was appointed to her current position in February 2010, and in this role is responsible for corporate and product communications supporting the company’s business and leading brands, employee communications, patient advocacy and corporate giving programs. She is a member of the board of directors of the Gilead Foundation, a separate not-for-profit entity funded by Gilead Sciences, Inc. Prior to joining Gilead, Flood worked with Noonan/Russo Communications, a healthcare public relations agency, initially in New York before relocating to San Francisco to help establish the firm’s West Coast operations. Her agency-based work in New York focused primarily on raising awareness of research programs and products for biotechnology and pharmaceutical clients.  She is a member of the board of trustees for AIDS United, a national non-profit advocacy organization based in Washington, DC, and a member of the Arthur Page Society, a professional public relations organization.  Flood is a graduate of The Johns Hopkins University, with a degree in English literature, and serves as a member of the university’s alumni advisory council.  @gileadsciences
