Dr. Vivienne Ming

DR. VIVIENNE MING Named one of Inc. Magazine’s “Top 10 Women to Watch in Tech,” Ming is a theoretical neuroscientist, technologist, and entrepreneur whose guiding mission is to maximize human potential, from neurons to toddlers to whole economies. She has co-founded several companies. The most recent, Socos, combines machine learning and cognitive neuroscience to improve children’s life outcomes. She is the Chair of StartOut and an advisor and board member of several other companies and nonprofits including Cornerstone Capital, ShiftGig, enGender, Emozia, Smart Stones, and Orzo. Previously she was a visiting scholar at UC Berkeley’s Redwood Center for Theoretical Neuroscience where she pursued research in neuroprosthetics. She researches, writes, and speaks extensively on issues of AI, the future of work, diversity, health technology, innovation, and education.
