Tracy Layney

TRACY LAYNEY is senior vice president and chief human resources officer with Sutterfly, Inc., responsible for people strategy, including recruiting, employee engagement, talent management, compensation and benefits, HR technology and employee communications. Additionally, she oversees the Shutterfly Foundation. Layney brings more than twenty years of experience in HR and organization strategy to her role. Prior to joining Shutterfly, Inc., she served as SVP of global HR and communications at Old Navy, a Gap Inc. brand. In her ten year tenure at Gap, Inc., she held numerous senior leadership roles in HR, serving as VPof global HR strategy, technology, and operations. She also supported the company’s international expansion by leading the global HR shared services team. Prior to Gap Inc., Layney held positions at Levi Strauss & Company, and PricewaterhouseCoopers/IBM Business Consulting Services, where she served as a principal consultant in the organization and change strategy practice. In this role, she worked with Fortune 500 clients in the high tech, financial services, retail, and healthcare industries on projects ranging from organization design and development, to strategic change management. Layned earned a BA in English from the University of Pennsylvania, where she graduated magna cum laude. She is active in the HR thought leader community and serves on the board of the HR Strategy Forum, the California affiliate of HR People + Strategy. @shutterfly
