Nikki Medoro

NIKKI MEDORO first got the radio bug in college, hosting a reggae music show on Friday nights. She then started telling people that she wanted to be on the radio. A fellow student who was working at San Jose’s KLIV heard her and got her a gig there. Now an award-winning journalist, Medoro has covered Northern California news for more than a decade. A graduate of San Jose State, she reported and anchored the mid-afternoon news at San Jose’s only locally-owned radio news station, KLIV. In 2006, she moved to Sacramento to work at KFBK radio. During her time at KFBK, she produced the award-winning series “A Voice For Our Daughters,” which gave an up-close and gritty look at the sex trafficking epidemic in Sacramento. She received two Nor-Cal Radio-Television News Directors Association (RTNDA) awards for the series. She was also honored for her work on the station’s coverage of the Amgen Tour of California.  Other highlights of her time in Sacramento include covering President George W. Bush’s visit to Northern California and flying high in the sky with the Blue Angels. In 2011, she joined the KGO Radio news team to co-anchor the KGO Evening News with Peter Finch. @nikkimedoro
