Mary B. Cranston

MARY B. CRANSTON is the immediate past chair and CEO of Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP, an international law firm with 18 offices in the United States, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. She has over 15 years of experience as a director of five public companies including currently VISA and Juniper Networks, and of a mutual insurance company, CSAA Insurance. On those boards, she has served as lead director, audit chair, compensation chair and nominations and governance chair. She has also been a director of numerous non-profit boards, including service as a trustee of Stanford University and the San Francisco Ballet, and a director of Catalyst, the Commonwealth Club of California, the Stanford Hospital and the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford (where she is currently chair of the board). In 2014 she was named to NACD’s Directorship 100 list which recognizes leading corporate directors who significantly impact boardroom practices and performance. She is also the recipient of the San Francisco Business Times Outstanding Directors award in 2013, and the Direct Women’s Sandra Day O’Connor Board Excellence award, also in 2013.
