Marilyn Nagel

MARILYN NAGEL joined Watermark as CEO in 2011, leading strategic initiatives designed to help exceptional women in the Bay Area enhance their personal and professional impact. Prior to joining Watermark, Nagel was chief diversity officer of inclusion and diversity at Cisco. Prior to joining Cisco, she worked in academia, leadership development, operations management and organizational development for nearly 30 years, in the private non-profit sector and for Fortune 100 companies. Nagel has served on the board of director of Professional Business Women of California, the National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering, Inc. (NACME), Family and Children Services and currently serves on the board of Watermark and Big Pink Ribbon. Nagel is on the advisory board of The Center for Talent and Innovation and True Blue Inclusion and has been the co-chair of the Conference Board Global Diversity group. Nagel has been awarded numerous honors including, “Who’s Who – Women in Business,” Women of Influence from the SJ Business Times in 2012, YWCA Women Leading the Way TWIN award for 2011, Women Worth Watching award from the Diversity Journal 2010, Black Enterprise Top Executives in Diversity 2011 and Diversity Officer Leadership award 2009. Nagel is a blogger for the Huffington Post and contributes to Forbes and numerous other publications. Nagel earned a B.A. and an M.A. in public administration, and also earned an additional M.A. in social and systemic studies, with a focus on organizational systems. @marilynnagel
