Laura Stein

LAURA STEIN is SVP, general counsel for the Clorox Company. She is responsible for global legal, compliance, corporate communications, corporate responsibility, crisis management, enterprise risk management and internal audit matters. Stein serves on Clorox’s executive committee and sponsors Clorox’s women’s group. She was previously SVP – general counsel of H.J. Heinz Company, president of Heinz’s women’s group and a Heinz foundation director. Stein is a director of Franklin Resources, Inc., a global investment management firm, and CN, a leading North American transportation company. She was previously a director of Nash Finch Company, a large food distributor. Stein serves in leadership positions with several non-profits. She has received the Margaret Brent award, the ABA’s highest award for women lawyers and the Sandra Day O’Connor Board Excellence award and has been named by the National Law Journal in its inaugural list of the 20 most influential general counsel in America, among other recognition. She speaks six languages and has lived in Asia and Europe. Stein earned her J.D. from Harvard Law School, and her B.A. and M.A. from Dartmouth College.
