Kristi Mitchem

KRISTI MITCHEM is an executive vice president at State Street Global Advisors. As head of the Americas Institutional Client Group, Mitchem leads the strategic direction and growth of the business, delivering investment solutions to institutional clients in the U.S., Canada and Latin America. Prior to her current role, Mitchem headed SSGA’s global defined contribution business, where she transformed SSGA’s standing in the retirement marketplace. Mitchem was named one of Treasury & Risk’s Top 100 Influential People in 2008, has been featured in BusinessWeek and has appeared on PBS’ “WealthTrack,” “Fox Business” and CNN. She has testified in Washington, D.C. in support of improving retirement security, and is named in several patents pending for retirement income solutions. Before joining SSGA, Mitchem worked at BlackRock as a managing director and head of the U.S. defined contribution business and at Barclays Global Investors (BGI) as head of U.S. transition services. Previously, she worked at Goldman Sachs & Co. in sales and management roles. She has more than 17 years of experience in the asset management, defined contribution and equities markets. Mitchem earned her B.A. in political science from Davidson College, where she was awarded summa cum laude and First Honors. She earned her M.B.A. from Stanford Graduate School of Business, where she was an Arjay Miller Scholar. Mitchem is also a Fulbright Scholar. @statestreet
