Kim Polese

KIM POLESE is a technology entrepreneur and business leader with a deep track record of innovation. She currently serves as chairman of ClearStreet, whose financial wellness platform helps people reduce healthcare costs and build sustaining financial health. She is also chairman of CrowdSmart, an AI-based prediction platform that helps investors identify promising startups and helps entrepreneurs accelerate market traction and funding. While at Sun Microsystems as Java’s founding product manager, she led the launch of Java in 1995. Polese then co-founded Internet software pioneer Marimba, serving as president, CEO and chairman. She advises numerous technology startups and serves on several boards, including TechNet, the Silicon Valley Leadership Group, the Public Policy Institute of California, the University of California President’s Board on Science and Innovation and the Long Now Foundation. In 2011 she was named to the U.S. Commerce Department’s Innovation advisory board. An Aspen Institute Henry Crown Fellow, Polese is the recipient of the numerous awards and recognition including Information Week’s “Top Technology Executives,” the National Center for Women and Information Technology Innovator award and Time magazine’s “25 Most Influential Americans.” Polese studied computer science at the University of Washington, earned her Bachelor’s degree in biophysics from UC Berkeley, and was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in business and economics from California State University.  @kimpolese
