Kathleen Mullaney

KATHLEEN MULLANEY joined Udacity in 2011 as one of its first employees with the aim of making education more affordable and useful to students worldwide. As Vice President of Careers at Udacity, she helps Nanodegree graduates find jobs they love. Since joining Udacity, Mullaney played a central role in building both courses and student community in collaboration with industry partners and internal teams. In 2014 she shifted from heading up course development to lead career services. Mullaney is a frequent speaker at various education and technology and recently spoke on adult learning at SXSWedu and diversity in hiring at SXSW Interactive. Prior to Udacity, she was a data analyst working on Google Maps where she created tools to help improve team processes and map data quality. Kathleen holds an undergraduate degree in Geography and Spanish from UCSB. Mullaney was responsible for naming the company Udacity, and holds the unofficial title of Chief Culture Officer. She even worked as the teaching assistant for two Udacity classes, “How to Build a Startup” and “Design of Everyday Things.”
