JOYCE MAYNARD has been a writer of both fiction and nonfiction for over 40 years. She has published two best-selling memoirs— “Looking Back,” and “At Home in the World,” which has been translated into 15 languages. Maynard’s essays have been published in the New York Times, Vogue, MORE and O, The Oprah Magazine, among other publications. Maynard widely anthologized her eight novels including the newly released “After Her,” as well as “To Die For” and the New York Times best-seller, “Labor Day,” now adapted for a film starring Kate Winslet and Josh Brolin. Her novel, “Under the Influence,” will be published in Fall, 2015. Maynard is a fellow of the MacDowell Artists’ Colony and Yaddo. In addition to writing, Maynard performs frequently as a storyteller with The Moth in New York City. She runs the Lake Atitlan Writing Workshop, at Lake Atitlan, Guatemala, where her particular focus and love is assisting other writers in the telling of their stories. @joycemaynard
