Janet Zhou

JANET ZHOU is a new venture expert and product manager at YouTube. Previously, she was director of product for BandPage, the central profile for musicians to engage with their fans, where she helped scale the network from 10 million to four billion impressions and which was recently acquired by YouTube. Prior to that, Zhou led product and mobile teams at BeachMint to launch a suite of direct to consumer subscription businesses with celebrities like Kate Bosworth, Mary Kate and Ashley Olson, and Justin Timberlake. Zhou has been supporting entrepreneurship since her time as an investor at BlueRun Ventures, a global early stage venture capital firm whose investments included Paypal (acquired by eBay), Waze (acquired by Google), like.com (acquired by Google) and Foodspotting (acquired by OpenTable). She has served as co-curator of StartupDigest LA, was executive board member of MIT/Stanford Venture Lab (VLAB), and was a Next Gen advisory board member of the Computer History Museum. Zhou earned an M.B.A. from Stanford Graduate School of Business. She also holds bachelor’s degrees in electrical engineering and business economics from California Institute of Technology.
