Carissa Romero

CARISSA ROMERO is the co-founder of the Project for Education Research That Scales (PERTS), at Stanford University’s applied research center on learning mindsets. Here, she translated research into actionable advice and tools to improve academic achievement across the country.  Her work focuses on applying psychological research to solve real-world problems. She is an expert in “learning mindsets” – the beliefs that lead people to engage with their work and persist through challenges. Romero is also a partner at Paradigm, where she uses her expertise in translating research to practice to inform companies’ diversity and inclusion initiatives. She is a member of Stanford University’s Mindset Scholars Network and a frequent speaker. She has given hundreds of presentations on mindsets to tens of thousands of people across the country. Her work has been featured in dozens of media outlets, including the New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and Education Week. She earned a Ph.D. in Psychology from Stanford University.  @pertslab @clrom
